Abysses

I went down to where the light no longer reaches. It is the first environment I imagined for my flower-cells, and undoubtedly the most challenging: everything there works against them — the darkness, the weight of the water, the silence — and yet they grow.

What I love about the abyss is that nothing is taken for granted there. Every flash of colour is a small victory.
