Yule
In the depths of winter, when the nights are at their longest, I wanted to paint a dancing fire to mark the return of the sun. Around the flames, tiny eye-like creatures celebrate nature as it holds its breath before reawakening. Yule is that turning point: the darkest time of the year, yet already the promise of better days to come.
